MCC SECOND SUNDAY CONCERT TO FEATURE JAZZ ARTISTS MAUREEN CHRISTINE AND MICHAEL BAZAN FEB. 13

McHenry County College’s Second Sunday Concert Series will present jazz and recording artists Maureen Christine and Michael Bazan at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 13 in the Conference Center, located at 8900 U.S Hwy.14. Maureen’s newest CD “Live with the Symphony Orchestra” will be one of the three CD’s available after the concert, and 10 percent of all CD sales will go toward the Tsunami Red Cross Relief Fund. The concert is free and open to the public.

McHenry County College’s Second Sunday Concert Series will present jazz and recording artists Maureen Christine and Michael Bazan at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 13 in the Conference Center, located at 8900 U.S Hwy.14.

Concert vocalist and national recording artist Maureen Christine, along with woodwind virtuoso Michael Bazan, will present “A Grand Night for Singing: The Songs of Rodgers, Hammerstein and Hart.” This romantic and entertaining program features specially arranged songs including such favorites as “Oh, What a Beautiful Morning,” “This Can’t Be Love,” “Some Enchanted Evening,” “You Took Advantage Of Me,” “My Romance,” a medley from “The Sound Of Music,” and much more.

Maureen’s newest CD “Live with the Symphony Orchestra” will be one of the three CD’s available after the concert, and 10 percent of all CD sales will go toward the Tsunami Red Cross Relief Fund. The concert is free, sponsored by the music department, and will take place in the conference center at McHenry County College, 8900 U.S. Hwy. 14, Crystal Lake.

Maureen Christine is an award-winning vocalist who delights audiences throughout the country with her “melodious, expressive voice,” according to All Music Guide. She has sung with pop star Barry Manilow, recorded with saxophonist Pete Christlieb of the Johnny Carson Tonight Show Orchestra, and received a 2002 Grammy pre-nomination for her nationally released CD “My Romance.”

Michael Bazan is a talented saxophonist, flautist, and clarinetist who is a professor at Wheaton College Conservatory of music, the jazz ensemble director at McHenry County College, and has performed with such notable performers as Bob Hope, Cab Calloway and The Four Tops.
