[Monday, October 09, 2017]

Is your job search at a deadend? Looking for job experience to get a jumpstart on your career? Come drop off your resumes and talk directly to employers—all in one place at MCC's Fall Job and Internship Fair from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 7 in the MCC Gym/Multi-purpose Room in Building A, located at 8900 U.S. Hwy. 14 in Crystal Lake.

The fair will be open to MCC students and community residents who are looking for a wide range of jobs, including full-time and part-time opportunities, and temporary positions.

“New to the job fair this year are internship opportunities for college students who are seeking to gain experience in their area of interest,” said Daniel Ortego, career services coordinator at MCC. “We’re seeing more and more employers who are looking for student interns who could someday convert to full-time employees after they earn their degrees,” he said.

"McHenry County College is committed to meet our community’s educational and workforce needs," Ortego said. "We’ll have 80 area employers who will be accepting applications and answering questions about their job openings. Job seekers should come dressed for success."

Some employers who are participating in the job fair are: Aptargroup, Baxter Credit Union, Catalent, Centegra Health System, City of Woodstock, Hansen Plastic Corp., Mad Dash, Manpower, Mercyhealth, BrightStart Home Healthcare, Integra, Morgan Bronze Company, Sage YMCA, Scot Forge, Sherwin Williams, UPS and Working World Staffing.

Job seekers can prepare to put their best selves forward by attending either upcoming career workshops, including How to Prepare for a Career Fair from 10-10:50 a.m. on Oct. 11 and Interview Preparation from 10-10:50 a.m. on Oct. 12, both in Room A206 at MCC.

The MCC job and internship fair is in partnership with the McHenry County Workforce Network, McHenry County Economic Development Corporation, Sen. Pamela Althoff and State Rep. Barbara Wheeler.

For a list of participating employers or for more information, visit www.mchenry.edu/jobfair or contact MCC Career Services at (815) 455-8576 or send an email to Daniel Ortego at dortego@mchenry.edu or careers@mchenry.edu.
