OSHA has recently made several major changes that employers need to know. Join McHenry County College Workforce Community and Business Programs for a three-hour OSHA Update seminar from 8 to 11 a.m. Jan. 25 at the MCC Shah Center, 1400 W. Shamrock Lane in McHenry.
The seminar presenter is Michael Serpe, CSP, president of SafetyFirstna, Inc., an EHS consultancy firm based in Chicago. He has over 20 years of experience helping businesses improve in the area of OSHA safety and health.
This seminar will review OSHA’s newly updated and revised safety and health management program guidelines and recommended practices, OSHA’s revised citation penalty structure and enforcement update, OSHA’s revised recordkeeping and reporting requirements, and requirements for companies that use temporary staffing services. In addition, the major programs a company must have in place to comply with OSHA as identified by OSHA’s most frequently cited violation for General Industry, will be discussed.
Serpe will review the core elements of the recommended practices including management, leadership, worker participation, hazard identification and assessment, hazard prevention and control, education and training, program evaluation and improvement, communication, and coordination for host employers, contractors and staffing agencies.
This overview is appropriate for business owners, executives, managers, supervisors and lead personnel responsible for health and safety at their company.
