ISBDC Announces Seminars for August

Those interested in starting a business and need to know what steps to take or business owners looking to go out for capital, the Illinois Small Business Development Center (ISBDC) at McHenry County College offers informative seminars in August to help both budding entrepreneurs and existing business owners.

Registration is underway for the following seminars in August:

Tuesday, August 5

6 to 8 p.m.

Starting a Business in Illinois: This two-hour seminar offers valuable information for pre-venture entrepreneurs considering starting a business in Illinois. Multiple aspects of business ownership will be discussed, including the legal aspects of starting a business in Illinois, the importance of a business plan and handouts regarding agencies to contact.  Fee: $25.

Tuesday, August 5

6 to 8 p.m.

Business Planning Essentials: Business owners going out for capital or simply looking to drive a greater margin must have a business plan to be successful. Learn what to include in a good business plan and the method to project your cash flow. Participants will learn what to include in the narrative and financials toward achieving their company's goals and objectives and will hear what bankers look for in a business plan. Fee: $35.

All classes are held at the Shah Center. The McHenry County College Shah Center is located at 4100 W. Shamrock Lane in McHenry, near Centegra Hospital.  For more information or to register, contact the Illinois Small Business Development Center at (815) 455-6098.
