Expand your culinary skills with two unique spring culinary classes offered by McHenry County College's Continuing Education Department. Classes include Table for Two and Mushroom Mission. Create delicious items that can be duplicated at home.
The following classes are available:
Table for Two: Cooking for a smaller household size? Those who live alone, with a child, or another adult can learn how to cook in smaller portions. The main entrée is Pappardelle with chicken, mushrooms, and wine. Class takes place from 1:30 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 27 at the Lakeside Legacy Arts Park, 401 Country Club Road in Crystal Lake. Cost is $65 per person. Use course ID: NCU S03 004 when registering.
Mushroom Mission: Explore the wonderful world of mushrooms. Andy Andresky and Kurt Thornberry learned most everything they know about mushrooms “on the search.” They will share their knowledge about mushroom varieties, growing areas, and how to find local edible mushrooms. The first class is an indoor lecture and the second class will feature an outdoors “on the search” with Andy and Kurt. Location and directions to the McHenry County spot for mushroom hunting will be provided at first class. Class takes place from 7 to 8:15 p.m. Thursday, May 15 in Room A102 and meets again from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 17. Cost is $39 per person. Use course ID: NCU S94 006 to when registering.
