The Art of Drawing - Basic and Intermediate: The beginner to intermediate artist will draw a still life of fruit using black and white charcoal pencils for shadows and highlights as well as a landscape using colored pencils and a fine point black pen for a beautiful effect. With demonstrations and individual instruction, each artist will receive tips and techniques helpful at their level of expertise. Bring a 16 x 20-inch sketchbook and a set of drawing pencils. Pastels will be available for experimenting with color. Class takes place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 24 through March 17 in Room A241. Cost is $59 per person. Mixed Media Paper Collage: Are your drawing skills a little rusty, but you still desire to create art? Try paper collage. Paper collage involves combining found images to create an original piece of artwork. Topics covered in this course include: adhesive and surface choice, tips for creating a seamless image, protecting your image and copyright issues. Class takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday and Wednesday, March 10 and 12 in Room E203. Cost is $45 per person. Use course ID: NCU S20 002 when registering.
Zentangle for the Spring Holidays: Zentangle is an easy-to-learn method of creating beautiful images from structured patterns, including projects you can display during upcoming spring holidays. A certified Zentangle teacher will guide participants through the steps. All are welcome and no previous classes or artistic skills are needed. All materials will be provided and additional supplies may be purchased. Class takes place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8 in Room A226. Cost is $35 per person.
