Do the ways products and goods move around the country and the world intrigue you?  McHenry County College is offering the Distribution and Warehousing Specialist certificate program for people interested in the exciting field of distribution and logistics.

Adults who are interested in earning a college degree or certificate, but are hesitant about returning to college, can get their questions answered by attending a "Getting Started" seminar at McHenry County College in Room A101, from 2-3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16 in Room A103 or from 10-11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 9 in Room A102.

A musical presentation on the African influence on American music and national award-winning storyteller Barry Bradford are two of the many special events planned as part of McHenry County College's celebration of African American History Month in February.

The McHenry County College Advising and Transfer Center announces new Saturday hours from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. during registration periods in April, August, and November plus other select Saturdays as follows: Feb. 18, Feb. 25, March 3, March 10 and March 17.

McHenry County College will host free tax assistance for those who qualify through April 14 (excluding March 25-April 1 spring break week).  Hours are 5:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesdays and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays in Room A102 and A106 at the college, 8900 U.S. Highway 14, Crystal Lake.

Bring your appetite and a friend to the re-opening of McHenry County College's student-operated restaurant, Slainte, at 6-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 7. The restaurant is located in the MCC Employee Dining Room, Building B, Room B177c. The College is located at 8900 U.S. Hwy. 14 in Crystal Lake.

Join the Friends of McHenry County College Foundation as it hosts the third annual Take a Walk in Her Shoes Ball, an evening of fashion, footwear and fun at 7 p.m. Friday, March 9 at Boulder Ridge County Club in Lake in the Hills.

McHenry County College's award-winning forensics team took home four awards at the College of DuPage Frank-ly Speaking Tournament on Saturday, Jan. 21.

The McHenry County College Second Sunday concert series will host jazz/pop artists Maureen Christine and Michael Bazan at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12 for a valentine concert, "People Will Say We are In Love," featuring songs of Rodgers, Hammerstein, and other musical greats. 

McHenry County College's Continuing and Professional Education Department is offering a four-hour National Safety Council Flagger Training Certificate Course. The next session will take place from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10 at the Shah Center, 4100 West Shamrock Lane, McHenry, in Room 121.

Join McHenry County College's Trips and Tours program to see Milwaukee's Epicurious from 8:15 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. on March 21.  A variety of mouth-watering samples awaits you.
