Equality Equality seeks to promote understanding and foster alliances between gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender students and their straight counterparts. Through education and support, this club strives to provide a safe, supportive environment for GLBT students. By providing opportunites for the student body to examine stereotypes and learn about sexuality differences among human beings, strives to enhance social relationships and tear down the walls of intolerance. Student Senate The Student Senate of McHenry County College is a recognized platform for student governance and leadership development. The student organization is directed by an Executive Board and a Senate. The Student Senate is charged with working with the Student Trustee in promoting student welfare, protecting student rights, and representing the opinions of the students of McHenry County College wherever possible. Student Trustee The student member of the Board of Trustees shall be responsible for voicing student body and community opinion and shall report monthly to the Board of Trustees. The student trustee shall maintain a close working relationship with the designated administrators, and all duly organized and recognized student groups at the college, conform and uphold all Board policies and ethical procedures, cast a recorded advisory vote on any action requiring a vote by the Board, and otherwise have all of the privileges of membership on the Board, including the right to make and second motions and to attend executive sessions, other than the right to cast a binding vote.
