Multicultural Success Programs

We want you to meet your full potential in college! Mentoring can help you do better in class, improve your grades and find your place at MCC. FOCUS is open to students looking to establish or improve their GPA, and it’s particularly tailored to meet the needs of multicultural students. We offer tuition reimbursement contingent upon program completion. Join FOCUS »

Tuition Reimbursement Requirements

  • Initial meeting with the Coordinator of Multicultural Affairs
  • Obtain a 2.5 GPA, or above, at the end of the semester
  • Submit the syllabi for all of your classes to the Multicultural Affairs Office by January 23
  • Meet with the Coordinator of Multicultural Affairs during the 8th or 9th week of classes
  • Meet with Excel Mentor at least twice each  month
  • Check in with Excel Mentor weekly – phone, text, email, or social media message
  • Meet with an academic advisor at least once during the semester
  • Meet with counselor (Academic, Career or Personal) at least once during the semester
  • Attend five workshops or study events
    • Workshops include, but are not limited to, Study Events hosted by the Multicultural Affairs Office or Excel Mentor, Student Success Workshops (Sage Learning Center) and Financial Aid Nights
  • Complete the Focus Program Survey (end of current semester)
