Why did you take a summer class at MCC?

I wanted to learn to type faster. I like to write a lot of fantasy stories, so my mom thought I should take a keyboarding class over the summer. I think it will help me when I start school again in the fall.

What did you learn?

How to type faster using the touch-type method instead of just poking the keys. I watched my mom type at work and it looked so easy, but it’s not. It’s hard. I practice every day on the computer at home.

What did you like best about taking a summer class at MCC?

There were fun typing games to play. Our teacher let us listen to music while we typed. I also made new friends and my teacher let us bring in stuff to show each other.

Would you take another class at MCC?

Maybe Creative Writing. I'd take another class with my teacher because she was nice.

About the Class:

The Computer Keyboarding class teaches the easy to learn touch-type method of keyboarding. The class is designed for 4th through 8th graders to improve their typing skills. Sixth-grader Michaela saw her typing scores increase dramatically over the two week session.
