Illinois Veteran Grant (IVG)

If you are a veteran who entered your military service through the state of Illinois and returned to Illinois within 6 months of discharge, you may be eligible for this grant.

• IVG covers tuition costs and registration fees up to 120 credit hours and graduation fees.
• IVG does not pay course fees; these must be paid at time of registration.
• The IVG application is available at www.collegezone.com.
• Provide a form DD22-214 member 4 copy for each period of service to verify dates of service and Illinois residency prior to, and after separation from, service.

The IVG is provided by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) and is in no way connected with the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Illinois National Guard/ Naval Militia (ING)

If you are currently on active duty status and have served at least one year in the Illinois National Guard or Naval Militia, you may be eligible for this grant.

• ING covers tuition costs and registration fees for as long as the application is in force.
• ING grant does not pay course fees; these must be paid at time of registration.
• You must reapply every year beginning with the autumn semester.
• Deadline Dates for Applying (apply only once per academic year)
  1st semester (Autumn) September 15 || 2nd semester (Spring) March 1 || Summer semester June 15
• The ING application is available at www.collegezone.com.
• Attach a copy of your DD22-214 member 4 copy received after Initial Active Duty for Training (IADT).
