How to apply for financial aid on-line for the 2008-2009 award year

Note: This process will take approximately 20 to 30 minutes. The MCC school code is: 007691

  1. Have your 2007 Federal 1040 available.
    If you answer “no” to all of the following questions, you will need your parents’ 1040 also:
    • Were you born before January 1, 1985?
    • As of today, are you married?
    • Are you an orphan or ward of the court?
    • Are you a veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces?
    • Do you have any dependents who live with you and receive more than ½ of their support from you?
  2. Have your Driver’s License available.
  3. Go to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) web site (www.fafsa.ed.gov)
  4. If you don’t have a PIN number, print out the signature page, get the appropriate signatures and mail it immediately.
  5. Print the confirmation page, and retain a copy as proof of filing.
  6. Call the MCC Office of Financial Aid and Veteran Services at (815) 455-8761 if you have any questions.

When you have received notification from MCC, proceed to step 3 under Filling out the FAFSA on Paper.
