Habitat & Flight Period: Open, weedy or disturbed areas / May - September

 

Comment: Uncommon in northern Illinois, more common in the southern part of the state. Occasionally, the Gray Hairstreak becomes a pest of garden beans. Its larvae feed on beans, mallows, knotweeds, hawthornes and other plants.
