Official GED Testing
GED Test Dates:
GED Testing is done over two days. Math and Writing skills will be tested
on Tuesday. Social Studies, Science and Reading will be tested on Wednesday.
Steps for GED Testing:
- Register with the Regional Superintendent of Schools
across from the McHenry County Courthouse in Woodstock. Call (815) 334-4475 or go to www.mchenry.k12.il.us/GED.html for more information.
To register you will need to:
- Pay the $35 fee prior to testing
- Have 2 forms of identification
- one with photo and signature
- one with your name and address, such as a utility bill
- Receive a copy of your application
- Receive a demographics book
- Bring the copy of your application and completed demographic
book to the Testing Center in A245. (Monday - Thursday 8 a.m. -
8 p.m., Fridays 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., and Saturdays 8 a.m. - noon) Once these
items have been turned in you may then make an appointment for your
exams.

On the day of the test:
- Be early… no one will be allowed in the room late
- Bring a signed government photo ID with you such as a driver’s
license or a State I.D.
- Report to the assigned testing room at MCC
