Official GED Testing

GED Test Dates:

GED Testing is done over two days. Math and Writing skills will be tested on Tuesday. Social Studies, Science and Reading will be tested on Wednesday.

Steps for GED Testing: 

  1. Register with the Regional Superintendent of Schools across from the McHenry County Courthouse in Woodstock. Call (815) 334-4475 or go to www.mchenry.k12.il.us/GED.html for more information.

    To register you will need to:

    • Pay the $35 fee prior to testing
    • Have 2 forms of identification
      • one with photo and signature
      • one with your name and address, such as a utility bill
    • Receive a copy of your application
    • Receive a demographics book
  2. Bring the copy of your application and completed demographic book to the Testing Center in A245. (Monday - Thursday 8 a.m. - 8 p.m., Fridays 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., and Saturdays 8 a.m. - noon) Once these items have been turned in you may then make an appointment for your exams.
  3. On the day of the test:
    • Be early… no one will be allowed in the room late
    • Bring a signed government photo ID with you such as a driver’s license or a State I.D.
    • Report to the assigned testing room at MCC
