Telecourses
Telecourses...
- Videos, DVD and/or CD-ROM provide an alternative to the classroom lecture. Information presented in the videos, DVD or CD-ROM is not repeated in your textbook.
- Test questions may be based on material from videos, DVDs or CD-ROMs.
- Videos, DVD or CD-ROM run 15 to 60 minutes in length.
- You can purchase DVDs and CD-ROMs in the bookstore.
- Financial aid, scholarship or grant funds can be used to purchase DVD and CD-ROMs. Financial aid.
- Normal book return and buyback rules apply. Bookstore buyback policies.
- For courses with CD-Rom or DVD requirements, one copy of each telecourse video is available in the MCC library for library use only. Library website.
- For courses with video options ONLY, you can check out and renew telecourse videos in person from the MCC library. All regular library fees and fines apply.
Tests
- Tests are proctored/completed in the Testing Center, A245 or completed in ANGEL. Testing Center
- You will not be charged an additional fee to take a test in the Testing Center.
- Bring your current course schedule and driver's license with you to take your test.
- You must have your instructor's permission to bring textbooks, calculators, and/or class notes into the Testing Center.
Your instructor will…
- Maintain office hours to answer questions about assignments, tests, grades and address other questions.
- Give feedback or test results in a timely manner.
- Reply to your emails or inquiries about coursework, grades and/or test results.
You must…
- Complete a telecourse or withdraw from the course.
- Possess good time management skills and the ability to work independently.
- Bring a copy of your current schedule and photo I.D. to the Testing Center and Library.
- Contact your instructor (either via email, phone or office hours) whenever you have questions about coursework, grades, and/or test results.
Grades
- Course-specific grading information is included in each course syllabus.
- If you complete your telecourse before the end of the 18-week session, you will have to wait until the end of the semester to receive your grade unless you make other arrangements with your instructor.
Transcripts
- Telecourses are listed on your transcript with no special identifiers.
- MCC charges a fee for transcripts. Order your transcript.
