Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)

Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) candidates on the Microsoft Windows Server ™ 2003 track are required to satisfy the following requirements:

Core Exams (3 exams required)

These consist of two networking system exams and one client operating system exam.

CIS-157 – Advanced Windows Server Exam 70–290: Managing and Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Environment
CIS-256 – Windows Network Infrastructure Exam 70–291: Implementing, Managing, and Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Network Infrastructure

Elective Exams (1 exam required)

Together with the core exams, the elective exams provide a valid and reliable measure of technical proficiency and expertise to successfully manage and maintain the typically complex computing environment of medium-to-large-sized companies.

Note: As an alternative to the electives provided by Microsoft, these third-party certification combinations may substitute for an MCSA elective:
