Coach Jared Wacker

Jared Wacker has a long and successful  history with MCC baseball. He played MCC baseball, coached MCC baseball, left and returned to MCC baseball to coach again.

As a player and team captain, Wacker led the Scots to the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference Championship in 1999 and the team went on to become NJCAA Region 4 Sectional Champions in 2000. He successfully transferred from MCC to Elmhurst College where he became a member of the Blue Jays Baseball Team 2000 through 2002. He was also a camp instructor for the Chicago White Sox Training Academy in Lisle, IL from 2001 to 2007 where his 16 and under travel team competed in the 2006 Junior Olympics.

After college, Wacker acted as Associate Head Baseball Coach for the Scots. He left to become the Head Baseball Coach at Rock Valley College in 2007 where his team won 20 games, including the school's first regional tournament win in seven years. After Rock Valley, he returned to MCC as a full time enrollment processor and assistant baseball coach. Coach Wacker also worked with the Crystal Lake Bombers as Head Baseball Coach and with the McHenry County Hurricanes as Associate Head Coach. He then moved up to a Coordinator role in Admissions and Registration. In 2012, Jared Wacker was hired to be the first MCC full time Coordinator of Student-Athlete Academic Success.

Recognizing his 2012 team’s accomplishments, Wacker was the recipient of the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference Newcomer Coach of the Year Award in his inaugural head coaching season.  His 2013 squad was ranked #1 in the nation (NJCAA D II) for team batting average and was nationally ranked in May, 2013.

Jared Wacker received his AS degree from MCC and his BS degree in Marketing from Elmhurst College, IL.  He and his wife, Amy, have a young daughter, Ella, and they reside in Carpentersville, IL.
