Jared Wacker has a long and successful history with MCC baseball and has quickly become one of the most successful coaches in program history

Under Wacker, the team has won over 70% of its games the past four seasons and reached 40 wins two seasons.  His 2013 and 2015 teams were nationally ranked in the NJCAA Division II poll. The 2015 team ranked as high as #16 in the nation.

Statistically, the Scots have been among the nation’s best offensive teams the last four years with an end of season team batting average ranked 2nd in 2013 (.351), 3rd in 2014 (.353) and finished 6th in the nation in runs scored (477) in 2015.  The Scots have also been known to be aggressive on the bases as well finishing 5th in the nation in 2013 (147) and 2nd in 2015 (186) in stolen bases.  He has also guided individuals Nick Richter (2013 - 2nd in NJCAA DII SB with 55), Evan Richarz (2015 – 5th in NJCAA DII SB with 38), and Zach Marszal (2014 – 4th in NJCAA DII Batting Average with .467) to be among the nation’s best players.

Wacker was the recipient of the 2012 Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference Newcomer Coach of the Year Award in his inaugural head coaching season.  As Head Coach at MCC, Wacker has helped his players elevate their game to another level.  He's coached 30 all-conference selections, 10 All-Region IV selections, a Region IV Player of the Year (Zach Marszal - 2015), and a NJCAA DII All-American (Zach Marszal -2015).  Additional highlights include 2 NJCAA DII National Pitchers of the Week (both in 2015), an NJCAA All-Academic Team (2014), and former pitcher Chase Blazier’s perfect game on March 3, 2012. Twenty-nine of Wacker’s former players have moved on to play baseball at the four-year level.  Of those 29 players, 12 committed to NCAA Division I programs.

In 2003, Wacker began his college coaching career at MCC as an assistant coach.  He held the position for three years before being named the Head Baseball Coach at Rock Valley College in 2006.  After one season at Rock Valley, he returned to accept a full-time position at MCC as an enrollment processor and assistant baseball coach. After holding additional positions as Student Development Advisor and Coordinator of Registration, Wacker became Head Baseball Coach in 2011.

In 1999, Wacker began his playing career at MCC as a member of the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference Championship team and served as team captain in 2000 when the team went on to become NJCAA Region 4 Sectional Champions. He successfully transferred from MCC to Elmhurst College where he became a member of the Blue Jays Baseball Team 2000 through 2002. He was also a camp instructor for the Chicago White Sox Training Academy in Lisle, IL from 2001 to 2007 where his 16-and-under travel team competed in the 2006 Junior Olympics.  Wacker has also been involved with local travel baseball organizations, holding positions with the McHenry County Hurricanes as well as the Crystal Lake Bombers.

In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Wacker was also hired as the Coordinator of Student-Athlete Success in 2012.  He and his wife, Amy, have two daughters, Ella and Mila, and they reside in Carpentersville, IL.
