Art Department Mission Statement

The McHenry County College Art Department values its students learning about and exploration of the visual arts. We place our students’ needs first and foremost. The Art Department instills an appreciation of visual art in our students through the study of art in diverse cultural contexts and aims to generate the lifelong pursuit of personal creativity and/or informed viewer ship as related to the visual arts. Our mission includes providing both the internal and external community with a broad spectrum of activities related to art and gallery exhibitions of artwork created by local, national, and international artists.
