Details about ACT scores for STEP 3

If you have taken the ACT, you may be exempt from taking the English and Reading placement tests.

• A minimum score of 21 in English will waive the English placement test. You will then be placed into ENG 151.
• A score of 18 in reading will waive all reading requirements. A minimum score of 15 will waive the placement test; however, you will be placed into RDG 150 if you score is between 15-17. You can take the placement test to attempt to place out of RDG 150
• ACT scores may be used for mathematics in some circumstances. Contact the Advising and Transfer Center (ATC) for policies and procedures (815) 479-7565.
